New Economy was established in July 2009 to deliver policy, strategy and research advice to promote economic growth and prosperity in Greater Manchester, working on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership.
Since its inception, New Economy has continued to evolve and progress as an organisation, expanding the scope of work both in Greater Manchester and across the UK and internationally. In April 2017, New Economy entered a new era of delivery as its Greater Manchester functions formally merged into the GMCA.
New Economy continues to work with public and private sector organisations across the UK to support them to develop strategies and programmes to transform their economies and public services.
Through our pioneering cost benefit analysis work, we have a nationally leading approach to analysing the fiscal, economic, and social value of economic development and public service reform projects and programmes. We offer training and support in the use of cost benefit analysis approaches for organisations across the UK.
We work in partnership with the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth, the North West Regional Leaders Board, and the Northern Powerhouse Partnership to deliver pragmatic and practical research and policy advice.
New Economy is a trading arm of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
